Nissanka had an explosive low strike rate of only 14 balls to make 41 runs in total while Jayasuriya on the other hand scored 11 balls for 33. Rajitha was economical by bowling out 3 others, taking a total of 4 wickets and with figures of 4/16 over his 2 overs, Kasun Rajitha singled out for the Kings. In two overs, Lahiru Madushanka bagged 2 wickets for 9 runs, marking his name also on the statutory board.
Mayers was the first to score 36 off 15, after which the rest suffered, followed by a mini collapse. During the chase, Kyle Mayers and Avishka Fernando were able to rot the 1st wicket for 42 runs at 3.2 overs making their chase looking promising as the duo opened. However, despite Fernando’s untroubled half-century off only 26 balls, the Nuwara Eliya Kings were limited to 106-5 in their attempts, 10 overs, thus taking my point across.
