Indian team’s owner detained in connection with match fixing in Lanka T10 League
Thakur has been arrested for match fixing on dues of allegations of him being involved in corruption in middle of matches in the Lanka T10 league, which take place in Kandy’s Pallekele stadium.

An Indian Origin who is linked with a team in the Lanka T10 League has been taken in custody by the Sports Policede of Sri Lanka on charges of Match fixing.
Thakur hadn’t even arrived at his hotel when he was arrested after being accused of conspiracy to sabotage or fix games in kandy on December 12 2024.
“The ‘Galle Marvels’ team owner in Lanka T10 Super League was arrested and a case is scheduled to come up on Friday in the court” The Police Interrogated.
The Galle Marvels are one of the contestants in the events.
His arrest follows a complaint that was made on December 12 and was lodged by a former teammate, who is another foreign player from West Indies and refused to participate in Prem request to fix a match.
The authorities in Waitara are now looking into the situation which has raised a confidence through the entire league kandy T10 leagues elections of the tournament.
